It must be nearly winter…
No matter how warm this English autumn is, it is only time before the cold bitter weather of winter will be here. Every year, we ask the same questions to our customers: “will your windows keep you warm this winter”? Often with the central heating in our homes, it isn’t until our windows are put to the test that we find out the answer to the question.
Most homes have had double glazing for many years, but do you know how it works?
Double glazed windows are made up of two panes of glass that have a gap in between them. This gap creates an insulating barrier, which keeps the heat in.
Here at CR Windows, we have a few different types of windows, but they all have one thing in common – what the frames are made of.
We have windows made with uPVC frames, and these last a long time.
To allow our customers to understand just how energy efficient our windows really are, we are independently monitored by outside bodies. We are part of a scheme called British Fenestration Rating Council (BRFC) who rate windows from A to G. The BRFC will test the windows at their efficiency in retaining heat. At CR Windows, we are proud to say that our windows are “A” rated.
A second organisation who recognise how energy efficient our windows are is the BSI (British Standards Institute). We hold one of their kitemarks for window energy ratings. The accreditation is given to us after stringent monitoring and testing of our processes. They test our processes from the factory right through to installation.
Along with showing customers our products, we also want to provide you with the best advice possible. Our sales advisors will happily come to your home to see what would best benefit you without the pressure of trying to sell to you. Please visit our showroom or phone us today to make an appointment.
