Tiled roof conservatories provide excellent insulation, making them an ideal choice for those looking to create a year-round living space. The solid roof structure offers superior thermal efficiency, ensuring your conservatory remains warm in winter and cool in summer. This type of conservatory also seamlessly blends with the existing architecture of your home, providing a cohesive look.
Additionally, the robust roof can accommodate features like skylights for added natural light, without compromising on insulation. Aesthetically, tiled roofs add a traditional and sophisticated appeal, suitable for a variety of home styles.
Lantern roof conservatories, on the other hand, are perfect for homeowners who prioritize natural light and an open, airy feel. The elevated roof structure with large panes of glass allows maximum sunlight to flood the space, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. This design is particularly beneficial for homes with flat-roof extensions or for those looking to enhance the sense of space in their conservatory.
The modern and stylish appearance of lantern roofs can significantly enhance the visual appeal of your home, making it a striking focal point. Lantern roofs also often feature self-cleaning and toughened glass, adding convenience and durability to their benefits.

High-Quality Materials & Workmanship
Our conservatories are built using market-leading materials, such as recycled UPVC for roofs, windows, and doors ensuring colour consistency, durability and sustainability. The quality of our work translates to high functionality, with our design reducing reliance on on-site sealants, preventing leakage and maintaining water tightness.
Customisation Options
Enhanced Comfort Optional mechanical and electrically operated roof vents, ceiling fans, and advanced glazing options ensure optimal ventilation and temperature control. Glass and polycarbonate choices offer benefits like noise reduction, self-cleaning, and solar control.
Glass is our customer’s number one choice for their conservatory roofs. All glass used in a conservatory has to be toughened for your safety. By far the most popular choice is the Saint Gobain activ range. This glass has three options – Activ Aqua, Activ Neutral and Activ Blue.
With Activ Acqua, you get a greater level of solar control. This will help to keep your conservatory cool in the summer and warm in the winter, by allowing in natural sunlight whilst keeping the heat out.
The glass has self cleaning properties that are floated into and onto the glass, so therefore it can’t be scraped or scratched as it is not a visible coating.
In most cases, planning permission isn’t required for a conservatory as it falls under permitted development rights. However, larger designs or properties that are either listed or in conservation areas may need approval. CR Windows offers advice to ensure your conservatory complies with UK planning regulations.
